Optimism

For a long time, I let a certain kind of pessimism take over. It's easier. It asks for nothing. No effort. In a strange way, it even feels rewarding because it always finds reasons to prove itself right. Optimism is different. You have to choose it. You have to nurture it every single day. It takes consistent effort. But in the end, it feeds you far more than pessimism ever will. It builds you instead of slowly destroying you.
